For you defenders out there of Cena's promo and ring work - those of you always saying he's just a victim of his "character" - take a look at this. It's Randy Orton VS. John Cena (as Prototype) from OVW in early 2002. As Dan-e-o would say, he's a "cheese rock" now and then.

Yeah, but back then, Cena's gimmick was that he was supposed to no-sell. Hello? "Prototype"? Half man, half machine? In the instance of this video, he WAS told to no sell.
I agree that he can't sell for shit, but using a gimmick centered around not selling is a pretty bad argument, man.
Using that gimmick at that point is a bad argument, but then again this was Orton's time to shine and go to the SmackDown! roster, but, I guess that's when they made Cenatype a top dog in OVW, and got him ready to take on Leviathan(Batista).
Although his gimmick isn't the prototype gimmick anymore, he still never learned to sell, I'm just glad he cut that shit on top of his head.

Didn't anyone else think that Orton telling Cena that he "better go sign up for the army" because "you'll have to be all that you can be" was worse than ANYTHING Cena said in that entire segment?

That was the worst argument ever. Yes, the Prototype gimmick was supposed to be a gimmick that involved hardcore no-selling, much like when The Boogeyman debuted and didn't sell shit. And yes, when Stephanie discovered he could freestyle, his gimmick was changed to that of a talking wigger.
So we have established that he changed gimmicks. Fascinating. Now do you have a real argument or would you rather continue to embarrass yourself?
I'm not saying that he stopped no-selling, because he still no-sells, but using a video from an OVW gimmick in which his character is SUPPOSED to no-sell is not very compelling evidence.
