According to Pro Wrestling Insider, Mike Bucci (formerly Simon Dean and Nova) was released from his WWE contract today. Bucci, had been serving as head of talent relations for most of 2007.The word is that Bucci was called into a meeting today at the WWE head office and asked to defend himself when he was one of many wrestlers named as a client of Signature Pharmacy.
Word is that the office thought it was inappropriate to keep anyone in management whose name had been linked to this scandal.
The orders placed with Signature Pharmacy were after the WWE Wellness Policy had been instituted, but before his retirement / promotion. The prevailing thought is that if Bucci was still an active wrestler, he would have been suspended, but not terminated.
The word from inside WWE is that Mike "Simon Dean" Bucci has been released from his position in talent relations. Bucci was largely involved in WWE's developmental territories.Bucci was apparently called into a meeting today about his name being mentioned in the New York Daily News article as being a client of Signature Pharmacy.
It's highly unlikely at this point that anyone else on the Sports Illustrated / NY Times / ESPN lists will be released. Bucci has clearly been made a sacrificial lamb. Tha O Show is attempting to contact Bucci for an interview and to get his perspective on this shocking development.
