10 Suspended By WWE

Big news coming out tonight as WWE.com has reported that 10 superstars have been suspended:

Based on independent information received from investigators from the Albany County, NY D.A.’s office, WWE has today, under the penalty provisions of its wellness policy, issued suspension notices to 10 of its performers for violations.

The suspensions are likely based on proof that performers were using Signature Pharmacy or another Internet prescription type firms after the implementation of the Wellness policy.

In an article by T.J. Quinn of the New York Daily News, the newspaper received a list of wrestlers who were clients of Signature Pharmacy. The names listed were:

Randy Orton
Charlie Haas
Adam Copeland (Edge)
Robert Huffman (King Booker)
Shane Helms (Gregory Helms)
Mike Bucci (Simon Dean)
Anthony Carelli (Santino Marella)
John Hennigan (John Morrison)
Darren Matthews (William Regal)
Ken Anderson (Ken Kennedy)
Chavo Guerrero

The WWE Wellness Policy stipulates that prescriptions for steroids can only be received from a performer's primary care physician. Therefore, any kind of internet prescriptions would be a violation of the policy.

However, many of the names listed used Internet pharmacies before the WWE Wellness Policy came into effect in February of 2006.

It is by no means confirmed that these men are among the ten who were suspended earlier today.

In a story that is, in no doubt, related to this, The New York Daily News reported that the House Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection will be holding hearings about performance enhancing drug usage in pro wrestling at the end of the month.

We will have more on this story as it develops.

I found out about this and freaked out. I sent a few emails wondering WHAT HAPPENS NEXT.

Then I found that as you said, these cats used this group before the policy came into play. So few if any of those names will likely be suspended. I expect Edge and Helms to be the biggest suspensions, considering they aren't even active right now anyway.

Simon friggin Dean? Jeez, who would have thought he was on the gas? Also Funaki and Batista have been added and rumbling of Umaga as well.

Kennedy has openly admitted to steroid use before February 2006, so his name was likely on that list before that time.

This suspension list, to be released November 1st will likely contain 6-8 undercarders and 1-2 top guys. I doubt seriously that those suspensions will send shockwaves through RAW, SmackDown! and ECW. I could be wrong though.

If the rumored suspensions are correct,
Charlie Haas - Purchased drugs as late as January 2007.

Chavo Guerrero - Purchased drugs as late as May 2006.

Edge - Purchased drugs as late as February 2007.

Funaki - Purchased Somatropin in March 2006.

Gregory Helms - Purchased drugs as late as February 2007.

John Morrison - Purchased five different drugs as late as February 2007 .

Mr. Kennedy - Purchased three drugs between October 2006 and February 2007, including testosterone, which is an anabolic steroid. Kennedy sternly claimed in a recent interview entitled 'WWE Stopped My Steroid Use' that he completely stopped doing steroids as soon as the WWE Wellness Policy was implemented. You can read the interview at this link.

Randy Orton - Purchased drugs as late as February 2007.

Umaga - Purchased Somatropin as late as December 2006.

William Regal - Purchased drugs as late as November 2006.

And any of the five other names linked to this
Batista
Chris Masters
King Booker
Santino Marella
Simon Dean

are true: The Shit has Officially Hit the Fan!

The wrestling gods are raining down with vengeance. If adversity truely introduces a man to himself, we have to assume that Vince's true colors will bleed unto this business. Which direction this will all go, who the hell knows?

As soon as we thought the storm had began to clear with the whole Benoit tragedy, here comes the rear of the hurricane.

I always thought the wellness policy was a bunch of horse shit. This was just a legal formality the company put into effect after Eddie died. Not so much to help the wrestlers but the cover the WWE ass when needed. It's really easy to say that these 10 suspension are a direct result of this. The meida has most defentlly paints Vince and this is his way of pulling them up.

As for how the product is effected alot can be done. The WWE knew about this a long time ago. Most likly we'll see longer matches and more pre-taped interviews. Just because all the suspension took place today doesn't nesscerly mean they all need to be served simultaneously. This is just a company policy and not law. This could be the reason why the names aren't going to be released until November.

Remember when RVD got suspened for pot last year? I wonder if Jhon Morrison will lose his title too.

OMG!!!
No~really...
Who freaking cares???

This has got to be the biggest croc of crap I've heard of in a while.

I see these athletes as courageous men who get the crap beat out of them on a regular basis...
Who wouldn't need steroids if they were expected to heal as fast as these people are?
Everytime I've ever gotten hurt, like these guys do on a regular basis, the doctor has given me steroids... What makes this any different?

Think about it before casting judgement... Otherwise, I'm already knowing that you are a wimpy mother~f'er...
'Cause I'm a chick!

The difference is that those linked to Signature Pharmacy got their steroids without a prescription. "The doctor" gave YOU steroids, but these guys got them on their own (since online pharmacys do not require a prescription).

The announcement that names would be made public on November 1st means that anyone busted on or after that date will have their names released; it is currently their policy NOT to release names. We'll likely know who is suspended before the weekend is over once the taping spoilers leak out.
